The main nearby city is Lamezia Terme — renowned for its thermal spas, and home to the region’s international airport and main railway hub.
Just a short drive away, you can explore some of the most beautiful villages in Calabria (and all of Italy), including Cleto, Fiumefreddo Bruzio, Diamante, and many more hidden gems.

Among Calabria’s coastlines, the “Riviera dei Tramonti” is truly something special — offering romantic views that stretch all the way to the Aeolian Islands at sunset. On this side of the Tyrrhenian, the sun sets late, painting the entire waterfront in fiery, golden tones. It’s a magical setting for a romantic getaway, best enjoyed with a seaside apericena and good company.
Also known as the Coast of the Phaeacians, this area owes its name to ancient legends: the land between the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas — the narrowest point in all of Italy — is said to have been home to the mythical people who welcomed Odysseus after his shipwreck. The land of King Alcinous and Princess Nausicaa, from Homer’s Odyssey.
Behind the Riviera rise the lush forests of Mount Reventino and hidden gems like the town of Curinga, famous for its scenic hike to the Millenary Plane Tree and the ancient Roman Baths of Acconia.
The coastline is bordered by the fertile Plain of Sant’Eufemia, blanketed in the renowned Tropea Red Onion (IGP) fields, Lamezia DOC vineyards, and centuries-old olive groves — a rich and authentic taste of Southern Italy.
